Rough Cut Feedback
1) Titles: good effects and consistent to the film genre Sound: good following the genre Shot Variety: more still shots but more varieties
2)Re shoot the bruise sequence make it smooth and distinct
3) Good effective sound to fit genre, titles good
4)Couldn't understand first part (voice over) - good though
Good use of handheld as it is building up suspense
More happening - confusing when she is strung up
Good font
5)Good creepy sounds,
I think it needs to be a lot faster paced to add suspense
Good handheld moments
Needs to be more obvious shot in the flashback - use a bigger flash
6)A bit longer - bruise
A bigger flash, fade in/out
Fonts awesome
7)Good sound and titles (font)
Jumpy and shaky on some shots
Matched conventions well
By taking each of these comments into consideration we have been able to improve our opening sequence by doing the following things: we firstly decided to make the voice at the beginning louder so it was easier to understand then we decided to re shoot the bruise scene to make it stand out a lot more. We then altered the flash to link to actual flashback. Two scenes were added - the chair and the map scene which related to the sequence and helped viewers understanding of the sequence and what will follow. In addition we made some of the sounds used more accurate and realistic to the theme for example making the crow sound quieter as it wouldn't be that loud in real life.
Using all of these changes we think that our final cut is successful and the best we could make it for the time we had.
